Name of project :
Development and fine-tuning of a biofilter for treating aqueous effluents containing hydrocarbons.
Summary description of project:
The demonstration project aims to fine-tune a biofiltration unit for treating aqueous and gaseous effluents contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbons generated by multi-phase vacuum extraction and treatment (MPVET) systems.
The project has allowed demonstrating the long-term efficiency of a peat-moss bed biofiltration unit and fine-tuning this concept to significantly reduce the effluent treatment costs of an MPVET system.
