Remediation technologies developed or proficiently employed by SLEI:

Soil/Groundwater

  1. Multi-phase extraction, air injection and vapour extraction, natural attenuation, chemical oxidation, etc. Applied to remove free-phase or residual hydrocarbons and volatile compounds from groundwater and soil in source or migration areas, these technologies are selected according to project objectives and field conditions.

  2. Recovery trenches and confinement barriers. These technologies apply engineering to environmental problems to recover free phase product or limit off-site contaminant migration.

  3. Hydrogeological modelling. Use of digital models (MODFLOW, FEFLOW, SEEP, etc.) to simulate hydrogeological conditions and contaminant transportation and optimize work.

  4. ENVIROVUE Database. In order to optimize data interpretation for large-scale, complex sites or multi-site projects, this software, developed by SLEI, is a simplified cartographic interface providing quick and easy access to environmental data.
